Why Palnova

Everything you need to actually speak the language

Real conversation practice, in the language your class is learning, with the tools teachers need to keep it on track.

Talk, don't just study

Every assignment is a real spoken conversation with an AI or human partner, not another worksheet. Build real fluency by actually speaking out loud.

Three ways to practice

AI Conversation Only for pure speaking practice, AI Conversation + Customized Exercises for a short round of drills built around your actual mistakes, or Conversation with a Classmate for a live one-on-one video call with a peer. Your progress carries over too — each conversation is saved so future exercises and sessions get better tailored to you as you go, not reset back to zero every time.

Our approach

Built around REAL learning

Four principles behind every conversation and exercise Palnova builds, not just a slogan.

R Reinforced

Every conversation feeds the next one. A mistake a student actually makes gets folded back into their exercises and future sessions, so it gets reinforced until it's fixed, not forgotten by the next class.

E Experiential

Students learn by doing it out loud, in a real conversation, not by reading about grammar rules and hoping it transfers. The language gets practiced the way it's actually used.

A Adaptive

No two students get the same exercises. Each round of practice is built around that student's own recent mistakes and progress, not a fixed script every student in the class receives.

L Learning

All of it stays anchored to what the teacher assigned — the rules, the topic, the deadline — so it's practice a class can actually track and grade, not conversation for its own sake.

Teacher-paced schedule

Teachers set how many sessions students complete and exactly when each one is due, with the ability to extend a deadline for any student who needs it.

Teacher Sign Up

Clear rules, every time

Custom instructions and optional PDF attachments travel with every assignment, so students always know exactly what's expected before they start talking.

Real feedback, not just a grade

After every conversation, teachers get an AI-generated summary with specific examples of what could be said better, plus the full transcript and recording. They can reject a submission for a student to redo it, all from one place.

The research

Active, hands-on methods beat traditional teaching

Palnova is built around real conversation because that's the kind of learning the research on language classrooms actually backs up, not lectures and worksheets.

Augmented reality
0.86
Collaborative learning
0.90
Structured hands-on learning
1.49

Effect size (Hedges' g) of each active teaching method, measured against a matched traditional-teaching control group in the same study.

A 2024 meta-analysis pooled 54 experimental studies and 2,837 language learners, each one measuring a modern, active teaching method against a matched traditional-teaching classroom. Every active method beat that traditional baseline by a wide margin: collaborative learning (g = 0.90) and augmented reality (g = 0.86) both landed in the "high effect" range, and structured, hands-on learning-cycle instruction (g = 1.49) reached what the authors call an "excellent" effect. None of these three is exactly what Palnova does, but they share the same core idea real conversation practice is built on: students learning by actively doing something with the language, not by sitting through it.
